CanMage, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Gaussly mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App. By using Gaussly, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Gaussly is built on a privacy-first architecture specifically designed for safe use by children:
- No account required: Students can use Gaussly without creating an account or providing any information
- No data collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any user data or personal information
- Local storage only: All learning progress and achievements are stored only on the device
- No external links: The app does not open any external websites or content
- No advertisements: Completely ad-free experience safe for children
- No in-app communication: No chat, social features, or ability to contact other users
- Offline capable: Full functionality without internet connection after initial download
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do NOT collect, store, or have access to:
- Names, email addresses, or any personal identification information
- Student grades or academic performance data transmitted to servers
- Location data or geographic information
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Photos, videos, or media from the device
- Contact lists or address books
- Voice or audio recordings
- Behavioral profiles or tracking data
- Any personally identifiable information (PII) from children or adults
3. How Gaussly Works (Local-Only Processing)
3.1 Learning Content
Gaussly provides math education for Grades 1-5 (with future expansion to Grades 6-8):
- All educational content is included in the app download
- Animated lessons and interactive questions run entirely on your device
- No internet connection required for learning activities
- Content updates are delivered through app updates from the App Store/Play Store
3.2 Progress Tracking
Student progress and achievements are managed locally:
- All progress data is stored only in the device's local storage
- Progress includes: completed lessons, quiz scores, achievements, and learning streaks
- Data is not synchronized across devices or backed up to our servers
- Parents/teachers can view progress only on the specific device being used
- Progress data is deleted when the app is uninstalled
3.3 Interactive Learning
When students interact with Gaussly:
- Answers and interactions are processed instantly on the device
- Feedback and animations are generated locally
- No data about student responses is transmitted off the device
- Learning algorithms adapt locally based on performance
4. Information We May Collect (Anonymous Only)
4.1 Anonymous App Analytics
We may collect minimal, anonymous usage statistics to improve the app, including:
- App version and device type (iOS/Android)
- Operating system version
- App crashes and technical errors
- General feature usage (e.g., which grade level is most accessed)
- Session duration (how long the app is used)
Important: This data is completely anonymous and aggregated. It cannot be linked to any individual user, child, or device. We use privacy-respecting analytics services configured to comply with children's privacy regulations.
4.2 Future Payment Information
Gaussly is currently free. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future:
- Payment processing will be handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store)
- We will receive only anonymous transaction receipts to verify subscription status
- We will never have access to credit card or payment details
- Any payment features will be clearly disclosed and require parental consent
- This Privacy Policy will be updated before implementing any paid features
5. Permissions We Request
5.1 Storage Access
Purpose: To store learning content, progress data, and achievements
- Required to save student progress between sessions
- All data remains in the app's private storage area
- Other apps cannot access this data

- Initial app download from App Store/Play Store

Note: After installation, Gaussly works completely offline. No internet connection is needed for learning activities.
6. No External Links or Third-Party Content
Kid-Safe Compliance: To comply with children's app regulations and ensure safety:
- Gaussly does not open any external websites or links
- No web browser functionality is available within the app
- No third-party advertisements or promotional content
- No social media integration or sharing features
- No ability to communicate with other users or strangers
- All content is curated and contained within the app
7. Data Storage and Security
7.1 Local Storage
All user data is stored locally on the device using:
- Encrypted device storage (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore)
- App sandbox security measures
- Standard mobile operating system security protections
- No cloud synchronization or remote backups to our servers
7.2 Device Backup
If device backup features are enabled (iCloud, Google Drive):
- The device operating system may automatically back up app data
- This is controlled by device settings, not by Gaussly
- Backed-up data is subject to Apple's or Google's privacy policies
- Parents can control backup settings in device preferences
7.3 Data Deletion
To delete all progress data:
- Uninstall the app to remove all local data permanently
- Clear app data from device settings (Settings > Apps > Gaussly > Clear Data)
- Note: This will erase all learning progress and cannot be recovered
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)
Gaussly is specifically designed for children ages 6-13 and fully complies with:
- Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
- General Data Protection Regulation provisions for children (GDPR-K)
- Apple App Store Kids Category requirements
- Google Play Family Policy requirements
8.1 No Personal Information from Children
We do not collect any personal information from children, including:
- Names or nicknames
- Email addresses or phone numbers
- Photos or videos
- Location information
- Voice or audio recordings
- Persistent identifiers (except anonymous analytics as described)
8.2 Safe Learning Environment
Gaussly provides a protected learning space:
- No chat or messaging features
- No social networking or user-to-user interaction
- No ability to share personal information

Anonymous analytics, if collected, may be processed in the United States where analytics services are located, but this data cannot identify individual users.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Because we do not collect personal information, users have complete control:
- Access: All progress data is accessible directly in the app on the device where it's stored
- Deletion: Delete all data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data from device settings
- No data portability needed: We don't store data on servers

- Control: Parents and guardians can view, manage, or delete all data directly on the device

- Learning progress remains on the device until deleted by the user
- No data is retained on our servers (as we don't collect any)
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

13. Future Features and Updates
As Gaussly evolves, we commit to maintaining privacy standards:
- Grade Level Expansion: When we add Grades 6-8, the same privacy practices will apply
- Potential Paid Features: If we introduce subscriptions or purchases:
- This Privacy Policy will be updated in advance
- Users will be clearly informed of changes
- Payment processing will remain with Apple/Google
- Parental sections and controls will be added to manage subscriptions
- Parental consent mechanisms will be implemented as required by law
- No additional personal information will be collected beyond what is necessary for subscription management
- New Features: Any new features will maintain our commitment to minimal data collection and children's privacy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal compliance. We will notify users of material changes by:
